Sri Upendra J. Chivukula, former Assemblyman,NJ.

Upendra Chivukula (born October 8, 1950) is a Democratic politician who currently serves as a Commissioner on the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities after serving more than 12 years in the New Jersey General Assembly, where he had been the Deputy Speaker. On September 18, 2014, Chivukula was nominated by Governor Chris Christie to a seat on the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, to replace retiring NJ BPU Commissioner Jeanne Fox. The New Jersey Senate voted 35–1 to confirm Chivukula to a six-year term on the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities on September 22, 2014. Chivukula is an advocate for raising the minimum wage, supporting social security and medicare, and investing in public education. In 2014 he ran in the Democratic primary to fill retiring Congressman Rush Holt’s seat in Congress, but he did not win the nomination. Chivukula served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2002–2014, where he represented the 17th Legislative District. In 2001, Chivukula became the first Indian American elected to the New Jersey General Assembly and the fourth Indian-American in the United States to be elected to state office. The support and advise of Sri Upendra has a key role in the growth of Ghantasala Kalasala International NJ.

Sri Raghu Sarma Sankaramanchi

Born in the family of Sankaramanchi who has been serving as priests for generations, Sri Raghu Sharma (popularly known as Raghu Ji) has been inclined to Devotion towards Shirdi Sai from his Childhood. Learning Brahmin Rituals under his father initially, later he finished Vedic courses such as Prevasa, Vara and Pravara at Bapatla Sankara Vidyalam Veda Pathasala (Certified by Department of AP state) from 1983 to 1987. Being interested in further education in General stream, Raghu Ji also obtained a Bachelors degree in Arts from Andhra University in Sociology and Public Administration. He started his career as priest and head priest at Sri Sai Baba Temple (near Mary Stella college) Vijayawada from 1987 to1994 and Later on he moved to Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Samsthan Trust at Dilsukhnagar, Hyderabad as a head priest. To spread the Sai Tatwam to the NRI’s, he had moved to USA to serve as Head Priest in Sai Mandir at Baldwin, New York and continued to serve Sai Center, Iselin, New Jersey in 2010. Sri Raghu JI, who is serving Baba for the past 25 years, has started “Sri Sai Datta Peetham” with noble intentions. The aim relates back to Baba’s Thoughts on Satsung, Nitya Anna danam , Education and Charity. Ghantasala kalasala Interernational in NJ USA is started with the blessings of Sri Raghu ji and his support.

His brilliant compositions won critics applause and he is undoubtedly the most sought after musician of Ghantasala’s Telugu Music. A true aficionado of Sri Ghantasala, Sharathchandra laid foundation to a unique music college and arts centre through his innovative approach which are intended to train the artists following professional standards and also offering them a platform to showcase their art. Drawn by the principles of Swami Vivekananda, Sharathchandra designed and implemented various social service projects and have been seamlessly working on the rural youth and women empowerment activities to educate the masses and provide a means of livelihood to the downtrodden.
